Rooted in the "GAME with PLAY<\/strong>" ecosystem, the UNTITLED is FIRST Fantastic Film Festival's testing ground for moving image practice at the threshold of transformation. As the origin of the image shifts from the opening of a shutter to the writing of a prompt, the UNTITLED is dedicated to building an interactive ecology of generative imagery – one that fuses cross-media forms with creative intuition, and traces how the conditions of image-making are being remade across generations.<\/div>\n
Taking "refusal of definition<\/strong>" as its position, the UNTITLED encourages creators \u2014 through its competition structure and diverse curatorial practices to work with AIGC generation, game engines, interactive design, and other frontier tools, interrogating what becomes possible between creative instruction and the act of image generation. The UNTITLED seeks to move beyond the boundaries of traditional screen media and genre, repositioning the image as a site of participatory authorship, and from there, expanding the possibilities of an entirely new image ecosystem.<\/div>\n
The UNTITLED comprises two parallel sections: the UNTITLED Competition<\/strong> and UNTITLED <\/strong>EXP<\/strong>.<\/strong> UNTITLED EXP is a specially conceived immersive and interactive exhibition space, open to works that engage with live participation, spatial experience, and interactive encounter. Selected projects may be considered simultaneously for both award competition and installation exhibition.<\/div>\n
Beyond the competition, the UNTITLED also encompasses a range of extended programmes – including cross-disciplinary exchanges, residency creation, and image workshops. Through research and on-site practice, these initiatives allow curatorial and creative thinking to remain in productive flux, building a sustained and speculative response to the future of generative image-making.<\/div>\n
Submissions for the UNTITLED of the 11th FIRST Fantastic Film Festival are open from 12:00, May 18 to 24:00, July 5 (Beijing Time).<\/div>\n
