Miao graduated from Tsinghua University\u2019s Department of Journalism and Communication with Dual Degrees of Digital Media and Design, and he obtained a Master Degree in Filmmaking at Chapman University. He had been involved in multiple theatrical feature films, web series and documentaries both domestically and internationally. He was also the second unit director of photographer for Zhang Yimou\u2019s recent film CLIFF WALKERS. Miao\u2019s notable awards include a top 24th DGA Student Film Award for short film THICKER THAN WATER, indie Short Best Film with short film PRINCE IN A JAR in 2018,  and Best Director at Los Angeles LAFA Film Festival in 2018.
