Ma Weijia\u2019s animated short STEP INTO THE RIVER was selected in Oscar Best Animation Shortlist, also won the Best Animation Short at Palm Spring, and awarded in 20 more other international festivals. Her documentary short MY QUARANTINE BEAR won the Special Mention award at Vision du Reel, and the Best Film for Chinese Competition at Beijing International Short Film Festival. She focuses on narrative, also explores experimental languages in animation.
