Synopsis
She returned from overseas and had to see her critically ill father for the last time. In the quarantine hotel, her isolated life was like being stranded on a deserted island, and memories of her father from childhood were intertwined. She set fire to the room, but the memories could never be cut off.
Qian Ning
Qian Ning, born in Zhejiang Province in 1997, is studying in the Department of Film at NTUA, and he was selected for the 2020 Golden Horse Film Academy. His short film Monster Days was selected for the San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival, the Boston International Kids Film Festival in the United States, etc. He likes themes with mysterious and fantasy elements, trying to show things that deviate from common sense while highlighting a certain reality of the world.
Director's statement
Qian Ning was born in 1997 in Zhejiang, China. He graduated from the Filmmaking Department of Taiwan National University of Arts, majoring in Film Directing. He is also an alumnus of GHFA. His short film MY ZOMBIE GRANDPA premiered at the Kaohsiung Film Festival and was selected for the Zlín International Film Festival. His short film FLUFFY BALL was selected for over ten film festivals, including Brno16 and FIRST International Film Festival. His latest series, TALES IN THE DARK was selected for the Taipei Golden Horse Film Project Promotion. He enjoys mysterious and fantastical themes, aiming to highlight a certain truth about the world while presenting.
