Synopsis
In the near future, environmental degradation forces humanity to upload their consciousness into a “New World” composed of data. Yet a small remnant must remain behind to maintain the system’s operations. Sixteen-year-old Cheng Qi, whose father—his sole guardian since childhood—has ascended to the “New World,” grows increasingly unable to endure the empty city and monotonous existence. Following clues left by his father and accompanied by his friend Chen Rang, he embarks on a journey to find his mother, who left home ten years prior. Along the way, they encounter strange events and people who offer Cheng Qi diverse perspectives on life’s choices. Yet, the more he hears, the more lost he feels about his own path forward.
