Director's statement
This is an urban love story with a strong romantic tone, revolving around a house and depicting the joys and sorrows of love between two lonely individuals in the current era of living alone. In my years in this industry, the most unforgettable experience was when I shot my first graduation short film, THE SONG OF PIGEONS. It was this experience that strengthened my confidence in pursuing a career in filmmaking, and I adapted it into this feature film, NO DISTANCE. The film uses minimalist sketching to showcase the emotions and communication between contemporary urban people. In their stories, I see ourselves and the vibrant vitality that erupts from our desire for communication – a life color with a strong aesthetic sense. For me, this film is a love letter to single men and women, as well as a love letter to filmmaking.
