Zhao Ye

Born in 1979 in Beijing, Zhao Ye is a Chinese film director. He won numerous awards and recognition, with the Grand Jury at China Independent Film Festival for Ma Wu Jia (2007), Asian New Talent Award at Shanghai International Film Festival for Jalainur (2009), HAF prize at Hong Kong International Film Festival for Lie Gou (The Hound) (2012). He is also the art director for Crosscurrent (2012) which won the Silver Bear prize at Berlin International Film Festival. He will also direct a feature film, Sunshine in Norway (2019), which is the first Chinese film project co-produced with Norway.

Guo Xiaodong

Guo Xiaodong is a film director, producer, editor and curator. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree of Electronic Engineering at Peking University and received his master’s degree of Visual Art from Cinéma du Réel department of Geneva University of Art and Design. He founded Levo Films Pte. Ltd., he participated as a producer in several Asian and international co-productions including Caro Mio Ben (My Dear Beloved) (2018), Hills and Mountains (2018), Portrait (2011), The Tree House, etc. As an independent film editor, he participated in several feature films, such as Free and Easy (2016), Knife in the Clear Water (2016), Lush Reeds (2018), etc. As a curator, he organized a series of Asian film screenings and forums, and initialized the foundation of New Asian Filmmakers Collective in Beijing.

Gu Tao

Gu Tao is a Chinese film director, producer, and editor. He is born in Sichuan and graduated from Mei Hoppenheim School of Cinema at Concordia University in 2007 with a degree in Film Production. He initiated his film endeavor in experimental filmmaking. One of his experimental shorts, On the Way to the Sea (2010), was selected by Sundance Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival and 40 other festivals. He also won numerous awards, including “The Special Jury Prize” at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. The film was also selected for “Canadian Top 10” at Toronto International Film Festival and screened at Perez Art Museum at Miami in 2014.

As an auteur, Gu also worked as an editor for documentaries. His edited work include The Vanishing Spring Light (2011), which won the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam for ‘Best First Appearance’ and “Prix Joris Ivens” at Cinéma du Réel.

His documentary debut, Taming the Horse (2017), won Golden Montgolfiere prize at the Three Continents Festival.

AMei

AMei, screenwriter, writer, former media worker. She has published a novel collection “Beijing Ye Wei Yang” (“Beijing’s Night is Not Over”). Screen-written works include Knitting, Under the Hawthorn Tree, The Law of Attraction, A Wedding Invitation, Bitter Flowers, and So Long, My Son, etc.

btr, living in Shanghai, is an author, interpreter, and contemporary art critic. Published works include “Mini” “Petite Mort” etc. A collection of short stories about contemporary art “After a Vibrant Exhibition, We Capture the City: A Viewing Perspective” is going to be published by Imaginist. Interpretated works include “The Invention of Solitude” and “Winter Journal” by Paul Auster, “Lessons with Kiarostami” by Abbas Kiarostami, etc. He started to run an official account “petite mort” on WeChat from 2014.

Song Ting

Song Ting graduated from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. She was selected in Busan International Film Festival’s Asian Film Academy, as well as Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival’s Golden Horse Academy. Her feature documentary THE LAND OF MANY PALACES won “Best International Documentary” at Rome Independent Film Festival and “Best Documentary Feature” at Moscow International Documentary Film Festival etc. It was nominated for “Best Documentary” at 2016 Xining First Film Festival. Her fictional short film THE WAY HOME won “Best Student Short” at 2014 Hampton International Film Festival etc. and she was selected in Youku Original’s “New Director Program”. Her feature screenplay HOUSE IN THE MIRAGE received Script Development Award at the 2017 Xining First Film Festival.

Xu WeiChao

Xu Weichao is a graduate of Northwestern University with an MFA in Documentary Filmmaking. His short documentary works focused on youth development were screened at several international film festivals. Currently, Xu Weichao is working on his second feature documentary, THE VAGRANT MASTER.

Da ShouShou

Da ShouShou who have dedicated to media work for over ten years ,serving in China film newspaper, Beijing News successively,

also has undertaken script,associate producer’s work ,and so on, of many films.

Gao Zi

Gao Zi is a writer-director born and raised in China. In 2015, she earned her MFA in Film Directing from California Institute of the Arts in the United States. Her short film ELIZA premiered at the Créteil International Women’s Film Festival and screened at festivals around the world. In 2017, Gao attended FIRST International Film Festival Training Camp under Béla Tarr’s mentorship. She’s currently developing her debut narrative feature Xia Zhi Sen, which has been awarded the International Film Festival Rotterdam’s Hubert Bals Fund. She is also one of the fifteen talents invited by Berlinale Talents Tokyo 2018.

He Zheng

Born in shijiazhuang，HeBei  province in 1992.Currently a director,screenwriter, dedicated in stage multimedia video and work of other kinds.Debut feature film “The Son of Mountain ”was nominated in the FIRST International Film Festival XINING 2018 .

Qi Bo

Qi Bo, work as a cinematographer and documentary director. Now study in Director Department of Beijing Film Academy. Has created documentaries Mr.Nan, The Chinese Young, and Real Estate Salesmen. Mr.Nan was nominated for the best documentary of the 10th FIRST international Film Festival, Real Estate Salesmen has been selected to be part of the 2019 Media Library of the Visions du Réel Industry.

Xu Chenchen

A freelance writer, and cinephile, once worked as a report editor for GQ and specialized in non-fiction writing. Author of feature article “The Fight Beyond Death”: The most famous love writer Qiongyao also became a loser in the fight for her lover’s wish of natural death under social conventions.

Elaine Xia

Award-winning director, Elaine Xia, after graduated from New York Film Academy LA Campus in 2012, she started working as an independent film editor. Ending up working as an editor for several years, she decided to combine her interested in a new way. Her first short film Metamorphosis was shot in 2015 and has been selected by different film festivals around the world. In 2016, she got selected by the FIRST International Film Festival and known by the audiences in mainland China. The short film Gun which edited by her was selected by Cannes Short-film Screening. Now she is preparing for her first feature film project.

Li Yang

Major in film and television directing at National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, student at Xianting Film School, former assistant for Wang Hongwei, Jury for initial selection at 7th Beijing Financing Forum, assistant director for short film Never Fall in Love. Li Yang’s short film project Tao Quan (Hoop) is selected by Hong Kong Renaissance Foundation.
