Synopsis
In the Chinese New Year of 2022, my parents working in Xi’an and I gathered at my grandfather’s house. We have not seen each other for two years. So, I picked up my camera while chatting with my mother and recorded six interesting “jokes” from her.

Chen Youxue has started to make independent short films in various styles since 2015. After a life change and being inspired by the film Werk ohne Autor in 2019, he finally found his lifelong creative theme: the intergenerational relationship in the family motif. Besides, he insists on promoting the concept that “everyone is the director of the family.”
